It's been a while since your Tollywood fans have seen you on the big screen...
I had my first commercial hit here with my first Telugu film, Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi. The whole journey has been so wonderful and that makes me want to come back here. I would love to do a Telugu film. In fact, offers keep coming, but I've been waiting for a substantial project. See, I don't want to repeat myself doing the same type of work that I did in the past in South films. So, if anything really good comes my way, I'll definitely grab it. And I hope I get a good project soon.
In the past, you worked with Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar. Was it a conscious decision to work with only top actors or did you get lucky?
Well, it was a mix of everything. At times, luck played an important role for me and then there were times, when I had the liberty to choose the films which happened to be with all top actors. So yes, it's been a fairly good career for me till date. I'm just enjoying the moment.
So, who has been your best co-star so far?
Well, it has been great working with everybody, whether it is Aamir, Salman or Ajay, but yes, Akshay is so much fun to work with. We're the best of buddies, on and off the sets, but when it comes to work, he's a thorough professional. So, I'll say Akshay for sure.
Your debut film Ghajini was the first Bollywood film to earn more than `100 crore. Post that films like Ready, Housefull 2 and Bol Bachchan too boasted of the same. So, how does it feel to be in the `100-crore club?
I cherish the fact that I was a part of a film like Ghajini, which has the distinction of being the first Bollywood film to have started the `100-crore club trend. Truth is that the 'facts and figures' of collections is just a trend these days... God knows, how long it will continue. But, what matters is whether the audience likes your film or not. And I'm glad my audiences enjoyed my movies.
