Mega Power Star Ram Charan is back in action to pack a punch, and this time in dual roles with the upcoming pongal release Naayak. The film's soundtrack has been composed by SS Thaman. For the Thaman scored for a Ram Charan-VV Vinayak starrer. Naayak album has five original tracks and a remix. Here is Naayak music review on way2movies… Take a look
1. Laila o Lailaa --- 4/5
Singers: Shankar Mahadevan, Ranjith, Rahul, Naveen
Lyrics : Chandra Bose
Laila O Laila is pub song and Ram Charan’s introduction track which is full of energy and manages to charm the listener with its groovy beats. The song’s beats remembers you of 80’s clubs songs. Shankar Mahadevan is as amazing as ever and his vocals are strong and full of energy, which complements well with the music composition and Chandra Bose rhythmic lyrics have lot of Hindi words.
2. Kathi Lanti Pilla – 3.5/5
Singers: Thaman, Shefali Alvaris
Lyrics: Chandra Bose
The song is packed with good rap bits making it a peppy dancing number. The song is addictive, thanks to Thaman as he croons ‘Madam’ at regular intervals that keeps you hooked. Chandrabose penned lyrics were okay. Both Thaman and Shefali Alvaris provide us with passionate vocals and they can be deemed as flawless.
3. Subhalekha Rasukunna -- 3/5
Singers: Haricharan, Shreya Ghoshal
Lyrics: Veturi
The superhit remix track Subhalekha Rasukunna is here but it falls short of expectations. While Shreya Goshal sings this song very melodiously, the male singer Haricharan fails to impress. He could not match SP Balasubramanyam who sang the original. The remix version doesn’t appeal much if the original was your favorite track. Let’s wait if the visuals are attractive…
4. Oka Choopuke Padipoya – 3.25/5
Singers: Vijay Prakash, Bindhu Mahima
Lyrics: Bhaskara Bhatla
Next up is a romantic duet Oka Chopuke Padipoya crooned by Vijay Prakash, Bindu Mahima. The singers have adopted a very subtle and restrained style of singing for the number and that works in its favour. Bhaskar Bhatla provides us with some warm lyrics. It has a very soft and beautiful composition that would be appeal more with visuals.
5. Nellorae -- 3.75/5
Singers: Jaspreet Jasz, Suchitra
Lyrics: Sahiti
Nellorae is a mass song of the album sung brilliantly by Suchitra by ample support from Jaspreet Jazz. It is an instantly likeable song. The beats are very interesting that makes the listeners hit the dance floors. Looks like Thaman has composed this to make the front benchers blow whistles. Sahiti penned massy lyrics strikes right chord with target listeners.
6. Hey Naayak – 3.5/5
Singer: Shreya Ghoshal
Lyrics: Chandra Bose
Hey Naayak is a bang with the energy-packed title track that is rendered by Shreya Ghoshal. The song will be liked instantly. Shreya Goshal has made a good amount of effort into this song in order to ensure that it appeals with the masses. The song has all the ingredients of being a chartbuster with engaging beats in its tempo.
Final Verdict
Overall, Thaman has come up with a mass album that has a good scope for dances. Since Ram Charan’s dances in promos looked dashing, we can expect good visuals on-screens and the right placement of songs will make Naayak album stay longer with the listeners. The soundtrack does provide us with some catchy tunes that you may find appealing to listen to though it may not match the huge expectations.
